Zen White Felt Gonger Small #ZWF1
Size: 9.25” x 0.75”
Felt: 1.5” x 2"
Materials: Finished Beech wood and white felt
This is an approximate size, as these strikers are hand made.
The finished handle of this gonger is made from the slow-growing hardwood tree beech to give the handle sturdy grain structures and durability comparable to oak or hickory. We also use layered white wool felt for its light weight and less percussive sound when striking the bowl. The mallet head is firm yet forgiving inviting a balanced variety of sound. The grip and balance of this striker allows full control of the volume you are trying to achieve with both gongs and Himalayan singing bowls.
This medium sized gonger is perfect for cast or hand hammered Himalayan singing bowls that are in between 7 to 10”, and can bring out the lowest frequencies from them. The slightly bigger felt and nice balanced weight is perfect for getting nice low tones out your bowl. The perfect in between for those with smaller and larger Himalayan singing bowls. This gonger is also fantastic for medium sized gongs.
The basic felt striker mallet is a high quality carved wooden handle with a 1.5" medium hard felt head. This lightweight mallet is convenient for use in cramped space and perfect for gonging the bowl in an extremely light and gentle manner. Using this mallet on bowls that are resting on the body provides for the most gentle of technique while bringing out strong vibrations from the bowl.
