This dual-surface striker offers a simple and flexible way to work with Himalayan singing bowls—allowing the tone to shift through two distinct points of contact.
With one side wood and the other wrapped in black suede, it provides both clarity and softness within a single tool.

A Dual and Responsive Contact

One side of the striker is natural hardwood.

The other is covered in black suede.

Each surface meets the bowl differently. The wood creates a direct and focused interaction, while the suede softens the contact—allowing the tone to open more gradually.

This creates a natural way to move between tonal qualities without changing tools.

Shaping Tone Through Surface

The wooden side offers a clearer, more immediate response. It supports rim singing with a steady, continuous tone and brings forward brighter harmonics.

The suede side introduces a softer interaction. The sound becomes more rounded and slightly muted, often settling into a more centered tonal range. The shift between the two is subtle, guided by touch.

Working with Smaller Instruments

This striker is particularly well suited for:

• Metal singing bowls up to approximately 7”
  
• Rin gongs under 10”
  

Its size allows for controlled movement without overwhelming the instrument, making it easier to maintain consistency in both striking and rim singing.
