Product Description:
A 26" gong is still light enough to transport easily, though has a good deal of depth that people are hoping for in a gong.
The Chau Gong, has a bulls eye in the middle of it. This is a classic style of gong that is replicated all over the world. It has a simple fundamental note, and as you strike the gong more, it slowly builds to a shimmering crash. Chau gongs hold their fundamental note well, so when you strike them there is a sense of coherence.
The Wind Gong, is flat, and is completely shiny. This is a like a cymbal on a drum kit. When you strike it, it will have a deeper fundamental note, but you will get lots of higher overtimes right away. It will go into a shimmering crash easily. So with a wind gong, you get much more variety in the overtones, and a deeper fundamental note.
The package comes with a beginners gong mallets package. This includes the Dragonfly Fuzzbucket, which is our top choice for getting the deepest note from the gong. It also includes a pair of yellow gong rollers. These are used to hit the gong quickly and continuously, so that you are able to control the intensity of the gong well. Last, the package includes three types of friction mallets, which produce a high whale tone, and lower whale tone, and a low rumbling tone. In total, this package is basically every mallet a person would need or want.
Natural Variations in Each Gong

Gongs are handcrafted, metal instruments. Because of this, each gong will carry natural variations in its surface, coloration, and subtle aspects of its sound. Each gong is carefully selected for its sound quality, tonal balance, and overall presence.

At Sunreed™, we take great care in preparing each instrument before it leaves our shop. Many of the instruments we offer are handmade or individually selected, and each one is carefully inspected, listened to, and packed so it arrives safely and ready for practice.

Products typically ship the next business day with FedEx or USPS and should arrive within 3 to 7 business days within the US. International shipments may take up to 4 weeks.
