Brain Tuners

Paired tones. Subtle pulsing.

This set includes five unweighted tuning forks: one fundamental and four companion forks that create binaural relationships when paired.

When the fundamental fork is paired with one of the companion forks, and are sounded together—one near each ear—a soft pulsation emerges. Not from a single tone, but from the difference between them.

A Pulsing and Relational Voice

Each pairing introduces a slightly different spacing between tones.

As they meet, a gentle rhythm becomes apparent—a slow beating or wavering that can be heard between the two frequencies.

The sound itself remains light and clear. It is the interaction that draws attention.

Brainwave States & Binaural Patterning

Brain Tuners are based on EEG brainwave research, which maps different states of consciousness:

Delta — deep sleep and restoration
Theta — meditation, dream states, intuition
Alpha — relaxed awareness and creativity
Beta — focus, alertness, and active thinking

When two forks are sounded—one near each ear—the brain integrates the tones and perceives a subtle internal rhythm known as a binaural beat.

This pulsing effect corresponds to the difference between the two frequencies and may support a natural shift in awareness—similar to how we move between different “gears” throughout the day, depending on our level of activity, rest, or focus.

Use in Practice

These forks are worked with in pairs.

In practice, they may support:

• exploring subtle pulsing between two tones
  
• working with sound near the ears in a balanced way
  
• introducing variation through different pairings
  
• developing sensitivity to how small differences in tone are perceived
  

You may begin with the fundamental fork, then introduce one of the pairings and listen to how the relationship changes.

The forks can be brought near the ears, or held slightly away—allowing the pulsing to emerge gradually.
