Product Description:

This Akutone friction mallets are made in Portugal. We recommend getting all four. They will, in total, complete most people's needs for friction mallets in general.

All four create a full spectrum of tone, from a deep bass note with the larger 55mm, to a higher whale like tone with the 25mm.

Depending on the gong, certain sizes of mallets will play better, or produce difference sizes. This is another reason we would suggest investing in the whole set.

If you are looking for the high whale sound, the 25 mm is the one to choose.

If you are looking for a low rumbling tone in a gong that is 30" or larger, we would suggest the 55mm. If your gong is less than 30" and want a low rumbling tone, we would suggest the 45mm.
