Each Universe Gong is one of a kind, with its own unique tone, surface pattern, and character.

Miguel Lourenco treats each gong as an individual being, and imparts in his work a spirit of transformation he hopes will continue on to help people.

The gongs are made in Portugal, from a copper alloy, called nickel-silver.

Your gong also includes a complimentary mallet, selected to help you immediately begin exploring its full range of sound.

A Living and Organic Sound

Miguel has tuned the fundamental note of this gong to a 2^nd octave G.

Universe Gongs carry a rich and expressive voice that can move between deep, grounding tones and expanding layers of overtones. This is from the material (nick-silver) and the chau gong shape of the gong.

A soft strike reveals a warm fundamental tone. As the sound develops, additional frequencies begin to emerge, creating a broad and evolving field of vibration.

The sound often feels open and organic, with a natural movement that continues to unfold as you play.

Natural Variations in Each Gong

Gongs are handcrafted, metal instruments. Because of this, each gong will carry natural variations in its surface, coloration, and subtle aspects of its sound. Each gong is carefully selected for its sound quality, tonal balance, and overall presence.

Shipping & Care

Products typically ship the next business day with FedEx or USPS and should arrive within 3 to 7 business days within the US. International shipments may take up to 4 weeks.
