A Unique Visual Expression

Universe Gongs are not only distinct in sound, but also in appearance. Each surface carries its own patterns, markings, and coloration, shaped through the forging and finishing process.

This particular gong features a radiant, symmetrical center that expands outward into textured and flowing bands. The surface reflects light in shifting tones, with subtle variations in color and pattern that give the gong a dynamic, almost living visual presence.

No two gongs share the same look. These variations are a natural result of the handcrafted process, and part of what makes each instrument entirely unique.

Universe Gongs are handcrafted in Porto, Portugal by gong maker Miguel Lourenço. Each gong is individually made from a nickel alloy, with careful attention given to both the material and the process.

Rather than being produced in large quantities or to a fixed template, each gong is created as its own piece, resulting in subtle variations in tone, response, look and character.
