Universe Gongs are not only distinct in sound, but also in appearance. Each surface carries its own patterns, markings, and coloration, shaped through the forging and finishing process.

This 18" Panaroma Gong carries a vivid and flowing visual character, with wave-like bands of color radiating outward from the center. The design feels expansive and alive, as if the surface itself is expressing movement through color. As light shifts across the gong, different tones emerge, giving it a dynamic and ever-changing presence.

No two gongs share the same look. These variations are a natural result of the handcrafted process, and part of what makes each instrument entirely unique.

Universe Gongs are handcrafted in Porto, Portugal by gong maker Miguel Lourenço. Each gong is individually made from a nickel alloy, with careful attention given to both the material and the process.

Rather than being produced in large quantities or to a fixed template, each gong is created as its own piece, resulting in subtle variations in tone, response, look and character.
