These Pow Wow–sized drum beaters are traditionally made with extended length and balanced weight, supporting a strong and consistent relationship with the drum.

With a longer handle and full leather head, they offer both reach and presence—well suited for larger drums and shared playing.

A Full and Grounded Voice

The contact is firm, yet responsive.

The drum speaks with depth, while still allowing higher tones to come through. The longer form supports a steady rhythm, where each strike carries clearly without needing force.

There is a sense of continuity in the motion. One strike leading into the next.

Craft & Lineage

These beaters are made by a Maidu maker, in continuity with traditional forms and materials.

The alder handle provides strength and flexibility, while the leather-wrapped head creates a full and grounded contact with the drum. The fringed handle adds both texture and grip.

Each piece carries slight variation, shaped by the materials and the making process.
