This piece is made by a Maidu drum maker, in continuity with traditional forms and materials.

The hide-wrapped head offers a strong, balanced contact with the drum, while the fringed handle and jingle cones add both texture and responsiveness.

Each beater carries small variations, shaped by the materials and the making process.
