Egyptian Sistrum

This Egyptian-style sistrum is a hand-crafted instrument inspired by traditional ceremonial rattles associated with ancient Egyptian culture.
Made from sheesham wood, the frame holds a series of nickel silver jingles set on gently curved, snake-shaped rods—an intentional design element that reflects historical forms of the instrument.
The sound is bright, clear, and rhythmic. When shaken, the jingles create a lively, shimmering tone that can carry easily through a space. The volume can be modulated through movement, allowing for both soft accents and more pronounced rhythmic expression.
Each piece is crafted with attention to balance and feel, making it comfortable to hold and easy to work with over extended periods.
