Minor Pentatonic Scale Frosted Crystal Bowl Sets
Ancient scale. Open expression.
These frosted crystal singing bowl sets are designed as coherent harmonic systems, with each bowl selected for its clarity of tone and its relationship to the others.
The Minor Pentatonic scale offers a different kind of field than the more familiar major scale. It is found across cultures and time—appearing in instruments and traditions from around the world—and is often experienced as naturally meditative, open, and spacious.
Rather than resolving in predictable ways, the tones create a field that feels continuous—inviting exploration without needing to arrive anywhere.
An Ancient Meditative Experience
Each bowl holds a steady tone.
This set includes six precisely tuned frosted crystal singing bowls, arranged in the Minor Pentatonic scale:
Key of A:
14” A, 14” C, 11” D, 10” E, 8” G, 8” A
Key of D:
13” D, 11” F, 10” G, 9” A, 8” C, 7” D
The tones are spaced in a way that allows each to stand clearly, while still forming a unified field. When combined, they create harmonic relationships that are stable, open, and easy to remain with.
Unlike more structured scales, the Minor Pentatonic does not create strong tension or resolution. It allows movement without friction.
The sound field becomes:
- open and spacious
- grounded yet fluid
- expressive without becoming complex
A Different Kind of Scale
The Minor Pentatonic scale has appeared across cultures for thousands of years.
It can be heard in traditional flutes, stringed instruments, and ceremonial music from many parts of the world. Its structure is simple, yet it allows for a wide range of expression without requiring precision or formal knowledge.
Because of this, it is often approached intuitively.
There is no single “correct” progression. The tones can be entered freely.
A Progressive Field
With six bowls, the set offers both range and flexibility.
Each additional tone expands the field:
- lower tones provide grounding
- mid-range tones introduce continuity
- higher tones bring lightness and definition
Together, they create a system that supports both stillness and movement—without becoming dense or overwhelming.
You may work with just two or three bowls, or allow the full set to unfold over time.
Frosted Crystal Tone
Frosted crystal bowls offer:
- strong, full resonance
- rich harmonic overtones
- a powerful and immersive sound field
Their tone carries easily through space, making harmonic relationships clear and present—both in personal practice and shared environments.
Use in Practice
This set can be approached simply. You may begin with a single tone, allowing it to fully develop, or move between bowls—listening for how the relationships arise naturally.
In shared settings, the Minor Pentatonic scale creates a field that is easy to enter. The tones do not demand attention—they support it.
In practice, this set may support:
- creating an open and continuous sound field
- guiding sessions without fixed tonal sequences
- allowing participants to settle into sound without tension
- working intuitively with tone and spacing
- supporting both individual and group experiences
Over time, the set becomes less about choosing notes, and more about recognizing where to enter.
Tuning & Quality
Each bowl is made from high-grade quartz crystal and tuned within ±5 cents of perfect pitch, ensuring clear and stable harmonic relationships.
Available in:
440Hz — international standard tuning
432Hz — slightly lower pitch across the full set
The relationship between tones remains the same—only the overall pitch shifts.
