The sE Electronics SE7 is a condenser microphone designed to capture a wide range of tones with clarity and precision.

It is especially well suited for instruments that carry subtle movement and layered sound, where both detail and balance matter.

Why This Microphone

The SE7 (along with its sister model, the SE8) is what we use here at Sunreed™ for both recording and live sound.

Condenser microphones allow more of the sound to come through, capturing not just volume, but texture, movement, and the full range of vibration.

This becomes important when working with instruments that produce a wide spectrum of tone.

Working with the SE7

The SE7 is a strong choice for mid-range instruments such as:

• Crystal singing bowls
• Chimes
• Bells

It brings forward clarity without becoming harsh, allowing the sound to remain natural and connected.

If you are working more with deep bass instruments, such as large gongs or drums, the

SE8 may offer a fuller low-end response.

Placement & Use

One SE7 can typically cover a space of about 3 x 4 feet.

This can be used as a simple guide when deciding how many microphones you may need, depending on how your instruments are arranged.

Each microphone connects to a mixer using an XLR cable (sold separately), and requires phantom power.
