This double wind chime offers a unique interplay between two distinct tonal ranges—one higher and more delicate, the other deeper and more grounded.

Designed with an inner and outer set of chimes, each layer carries its own voice while remaining harmonically connected. When played together, they create a spacious and evolving field of sound.

A Dual-Layered Voice

The chime is composed of two complementary sets:

Inner Chime (Higher Register):
C7 – D7 – E7 – F7
Light, clear, and elevated in tone

Outer Chime (Lower Register):
E5 – F5 – G5 – A#5 – C6 – E6
Fuller, more grounded, and resonant

Individually, each set offers a distinct character. Together, they create a layered interaction—high tones moving above and through a deeper foundation.

Form and Movement

The inner and outer chimes are suspended within the same structure, allowing them to move independently while remaining connected.

A gentle breeze or light strike can activate one layer or both, creating subtle variation in how the tones emerge and blend.

The aluminum tubes and paracord construction provide durability, while maintaining a responsive and balanced movement.

Use in Practice

This chime can be experienced in different ways.

You may listen for the contrast between the higher and lower tones, or allow both to merge into a single field of sound. The layered structure naturally supports a sense of depth and space within the listening experience.

It works well as a continuous ambient presence, or as a way to introduce movement and variation into a session.
