The exterior is made from natural cotton, with a buckwheat-filled interior. This combination creates a surface that is both supportive and responsive—firm enough to stabilize the bowl, yet open enough to allow the sound to carry.

A Balanced Support

Unlike softer cushions, the buckwheat filling provides a more grounded base. The bowl settles naturally into the surface, reducing movement while maintaining a clear resonance. Because of this, the bowl can be played directly on the cushion—either struck or sung around the rim—without needing to be lifted.
