These felt mallets offer a gentle and responsive way to enter into the sound of Himalayan singing bowls and gongs.

Through a softened point of contact, they allow the tone to emerge gradually—supporting both clarity and depth without harsh attack.

A Softened and Balanced Strike

Each mallet features a layered white wool felt head.

The contact is firm yet forgiving—reducing sharp impact while allowing the sound to open naturally. This creates a more rounded tone, whether working with higher harmonics or deeper resonance.

The handles are crafted from finished beech wood, offering durability and a steady, balanced grip. Over time, this balance allows for more refined control of both volume and expression.

Shaping Tone Through Size

Each size offers a different relationship with the bowl or gong:

Small (#F1S)
A lighter, more precise option suited for smaller bowls. The compact felt head allows higher tones to emerge clearly, without overwhelming the instrument. Well suited for bowls in the 7”–10” range, as well as smaller gongs.

Large (#F1L / #F1Lx)
A balanced, versatile size that works across a wider range of bowls. The increased felt surface supports both soft high tones and fuller low tones. Ideal for bowls approximately 10”–14”, and also effective for larger gongs.

Extra Large Heavy (#F1XL)
A more substantial mallet designed for deeper activation. The larger felt head and added weight allow lower tones to develop fully—especially in larger bowls (14” and above) and large gongs. The sound tends to build gradually, revealing a fuller and more grounded presence.

You may notice that as the size increases, less effort is needed to bring the bowl into resonance. The weight of the mallet begins to do more of the work.

Each mallet is handcrafted and may vary slightly in size and feel.

The handles are made from slow-growing beech wood, chosen for its durability and stable grain. The felt heads are constructed from layered white wool, offering a lighter, less percussive contact while maintaining structure and responsiveness.

Each piece is designed for consistent use, with a focus on balance, durability, and ease of interaction.
