The outer layer is made from natural cotton, with a buckwheat-filled interior. Together, they create a surface that holds the bowl securely while still allowing its vibration to carry.

A Grounded and Responsive Surface

The buckwheat filling provides a stable base that gently conforms to the shape of the bowl. This helps reduce movement while maintaining a clear and present tone. Because of this balance, the bowl can be played directly on the cushion—either struck or sung around the rim—without needing to be lifted.
