The striker head is formed from a dense rubber core, wrapped in black wool yarn. This combination softens the initial impact while maintaining the mass needed to activate the deepest fundamental tones. The wool covering reduces percussive edge, allowing the sound to open gradually into a fuller, more sustained resonance. The tone tends to feel grounded and expansive, with minimal sharp attack.
