She was born as the teardrops Avalokitesvara fell upon a lotus flower. Green Taras are benevolent and welcoming, promoting livelihood and relieving suffering.
On each shoulder rests a lotus flower, which attract many towards goals of betterment and enlightenment.

Her left hand symbolizes gesture, while her right hand symbolizes blessing and giving.
